The native who never left home
In Good Muslim, Bad Muslim: America, the Cold War, and the Roots of Terror, Mahmood Mamdani notes the founding morality of the US in viewing the rights of settlers above those of the Native Americans whose land they stole. He then draws parallels with Liberia, Israel, Vietnam and now Iraq, in the way that the rights of an 'oppressed' minority are upheld over those of the local people.
