Six months ago another Florida woman sold a cheese sandwich with the face of the Virgin Mary for £15,000 on eBay. And a few weeks ago Erica Brazier claimed to see Jesus on an ultrasound scan of her womb.

On Late Night Live last night, Phil Adams had two guests who've crossed the political spectrum: Christopher Hitchens (who's gone from left to right) and Robert Manne, who went the other way after his days editing the right-wing Quadrant magazine in Australia. The discussion was surprisingly civilised until Hitchens began ranting uncontrollably about the Iraq war.
