Four push-ups and a tail

The Native American Powwow circuit begins in March and lasts through fall. In the music of Powwow, a 'tail' refers to the part of the song that comes right after you think the song is over - after the singers have sung four verses, or pushups. From a Wisdom of the Elders tribal radio special about the route followed by the explorers Mereweather Lewis and William Clark more than 200 years ago.
