Goodbye Pips

The six pips of the Greenwich time signal have been a tradition on the BBC for 80 years, but with the introduction of digital radio they will have to go. The problem, as discussed Yesterday in Parliament, is that the compression involved leads to a variable delay of about a second. There doesn't appear to be a solution.
